Is it ok to mix sticks of RAM near two different speeds?

I want to pocket the stick of 256 ddr RAM from my old computer and include it to my new computer that already have a stick of 512 ddr RAM. Both are from the same company. I've hear it's not wise to mix RAM sticks of different speeds. Is this ok to do or not?

It is other best to use ram of equal speed, but it won't harm the system if you mix speeds. The faster stick will slow down to the speed of the slowest stick.

If your contraption has the proficiency of running in duel warren you need to sticks that are virtually matching. I.E. they must come from the same entrepreneur, they must be of the same size and type, they must enjoy the same grip latency.

Also, there is other the chance that the two sticks that you enjoy are incompatable with respectively other. This won't hurt you machine any, but it won't POST.
its fine, as long as you have a RAM slot for it,

DO NOT mix apple and PC push tho
I run a mixed system, 512 & 1gig. It works fine for me! Your system will let you know if it will work or not... Once you install the Memory check the system to see if the mixed chips incorporate up. If not just remove the smallest one.
You'll termination up running it all at the lower speed. ~
I don't know why you coudn't. As long as they are compatible, you don't enjoy to worry in the order of mixing a 512 and a 256. You can of course, it's not a requirement.
yes it will work but slow down ur computer a bit, depends.
The speed of the computer should not concern. If the stick will fit, install it. It should work.
