It be working fine until I inserted it on a Samsung 202 digital camera which allows only 1 see SD cards. It showed error and didn't do anything. I formatted it again but I ended up near 1 gig simply. The make is Maxell. Any accepted wisdom?

Reformat it on a PC using a USB Card Reader to get the 1GB rear legs
If the camera states it can only use cards to 1GB using a 2GB be not likely to work.
You merely answered your own question. You get a 2 gb card in a camera that individual accepts 1 gb cards.
Your camera will with the sole purpose recognize 1 gb because i.e. all the camera be programmed to accept.
