Is my complicated drive ruined?

As I be using the backup utility on the windows xp pro, the power get cut off. Now when I try to rerun the utility or other programs, any the computer beeps or the firm drive makes a clicking nouns. I did do a disk error check and some defragments, (no problems were found within the error check) but all to no avail.

Is my complicated drive ruined?

I make out that clicking sound. Your easier said than done drive disk is about to die. Try to let go all your files somewhere else while you can.
The clicking nouns is bad. If it's kindly of chicka-chicka-chicka, your drive is probably history.

It may be possible for a shop to retrieve some of your data.
From my personal experience, a sudden loss of power usually won't motivation physical harm to a strong drive. I cannot guarantee the structural integrity of your data. I do find that impressive clicking to be of concern... Perhaps a format will be necessary.
Something similar happen to me. If you are not able to reboot from the xp disk, mostly the complex drive is fried! That beeping nouns is a real admonition sign. Good luck! !
