any philosophy ANY at all at what you regard the problem could be

Made a laptop BUT no working?

If the machine is booting up, check to construct sure the video card is in the slot correctly. If it is surrounded by the slot correctly proceed to check the rest of your connections.

I've also had this problem: Check if the video card have a connection for a power supply. If it does (which i doubt it does base on its size) make sure it is plugged within. If everything checks out ok it is possible the video card is not working.

Hope this help some.
Are you receiving any POST beep? If not, make sure everything is seated correctly and adjectives parts are compatible with the motherboard. Also, try taking out any other cards (network, modem, etc.) and see if that help.
That AGP x1 card is old.

If the previous answers didn't lend a hand, then probably your motherboard doesn't support that AGP card. There are different types of AGP video card slots.

when its a blank blind like that but everything else responds, its extraordinarily likely that its the vid card. appropriate it out and put it back within, making sure it is seated right.
