is litescribe really indispensable? don't we need special discs for litescribe burning? Is litescribe worth getting? or is it only just another unnecessary factor?
Is litescribe required?
I bought it, thought it was a cool gimmick at the time. I don't use it anymore though. You entail special disks, can't do color, and the burning takes a long time. I don't recommend it.
Litescribe is unnecessary, and you necessitate special disks.
Not worth it.
Not necessary, and you necessitate more expensive Litescribe media. The supposed benefit is that it is easier than printing and sticking on label, and safer for the disc than using a Sharpie. Supposedly writing directly on discs with a Sharpie can grounds data loss after a quantity of years, and using Litescribe would address that problem. Using Litescribe also looks more professional since it looks like it is subdivision of the manufacturing process as dead set against words added on by the consumer. When creating discs for distribution throughout an organization for example, using Litescribe to create the sign would look more professional. For the average home user, I still recommend the Sharpie.
No if your not making custom disks on a regular basis later i would not advise getting one.
