Is 258 MB of video memory too little?

I right presently got a video card ATI Radeon Express 300 that uses up to 128 MB of RAM as its video memory so i contracted that maybe bad get a GeForce 7300 GS that have 258MB video memory, is that too little?

Is 258 MB of video memory too little?

128Mb is now usually the minimum required. 256Mb is only just about right and 512Mb is adjectives for heavy gaming but not other.

BUT take record that gaming performance is like mad more dependent on:

1. GPU architecture - more shaders or stream processors, the better.

2. Core clock speed - higher is beter

3. Videoram speed - high is better. 256Mb ddr3 beats 512Mb ddr2.
this is better and costs alike :

Depends on what you need it for. For gaming it's better to hold at least 512.
It depends on what your using your computer for similar to games yes you would need more memory.
It is channel too little, unless you only plan to filch a few quality shots. for a rough estamate divide your memory card by the camera's mega pixil rate,

ie: 256k memory divided by10 MEGA PIXIL give or take a few 25 pics
256 is perfect. i get this card. it is the latest DX10 card which medium it is compatible with the subsequent generation of graphics coming out for video games. it is also a fair price. that other guys card is 512mb. unnecessary, unless you are a graphics editor. i got this one and am terribly satisfied next to my computer gaming. and EVGA offers lifetime warranty and the they enjoy a step-up program which means if it isnt plenty power for u, u can upgrade to the 512mb model they have near in 90 days for no secondary charge expect the price diffrence. good luck and enjoy fun.
