building unmarked system need to know if intel is better than intel and if intel is 64 bit

Go for Intel - definately and yes - you can seize 64bit Intel chips.

I'd step w/ the Intel Core 2 Duo. Intel's been on the top just now with dual core (though I deduce AMD will make a comeback beside quadcores.)



I'm running an E6600 Core 2 Duo clocked @ 2.4Ghz and it's pretty nice. I suggest getting a new heatsink, though. Intel cores run a bit hot. I enjoy a massive Tuniq, but I'm sure a Zalman will do the job. (I hold mine running at about 30 degree Celcius even when Im running Counter-Strike: Source at full settings... That's cool!)



Hit up www.newegg.com to really compare the two. And read the customer reviews. They helped when I built my PC.
AMD X2. at hand is a flaw with intel core2duos which enjoy been identified on the subject of very dignified pitched noise(in Notebooks, not in desktops)
